Pulau Sibu, Mersing, Johor is the only island we are introducing that leaves from Tanjung Leman Jetty as Pulau Sibu is the located to the south of Mersing, and it is more convenient to leave via Tanjung Leman Jetty, which is about 72 km South of Mersing Jetty. The journey via speed boat will take 20 minutes and most resort on the island will be able to arrange for Ferry for about RM80.
Pulau Sibu or the Sibu islands are groups of several islets, including Pulau Sibu Hunjung, Pulau Sibu Besar, Pulau Sibu Kukus and Pulau Sibu Tengah. The islands are renowned for its lush vegetation, stretches of golden beaches and clear, emerald blue waters. The islets are about 6km long, and no parts are wider than 1km, making it easy to explore via foot.
At the Southeastern side of the island lies a traditional Malay Village, fondly known as Kampung Duku. 150 locals make up the entire population of the village. The whole community is solar powered and remains untouched by commercialism.
Numerous groups of offshore coral reefs, sheltered coastlines, and its abundant marine life make it a perfect location for snorkeling and scuba diving. A dive centre where PADI dive courses are offered is found on the island making it a paradise to pick up diving. You can also do other conventional water sports.
