Johor is the southern gateway of Malaysia. Mersing town is located on the East Coast of Johor, Malaysia. It is widely known for the passenger boat jetty, the gateway to famous offshore islands such as Tioman. The islands of Malaysia offers stunning beaches, crystal clear waters and colourful reefs. We found five little known and less commercialised idyllic islands off Mersing, Johor – Pulau Pemanggil, Pulau Rawa, Pulau Tinggi, Pulau Sibu and Pulau Aur for your perfect quiet weekend getaway!
There are ferries scheduled every 1 to 3 hours from the Mersing Jetty to the islands. The journey to the islands will take a couple of hours and is dependent on tidal change and waiting time. Despite the long trip, you can rejoice once you set foot on the pristine and untouched islands. You have left the masses and clutter behind to sheer tranquillity.
