A’ Famosa Resort, Malacca – Largest Resort & Leisure Spot in Malaysia

The A’ Famosa Resort, Malacca (Jalan Kemus, Simpang Ampat, 78000 Alor Gajah, Malacca) is about 45 minutes drive from downtown Malacca. The resort is named after the famous Portuguese A’ Famosa fortress. It is one of the largest and top rated resort and leisure spots in Malaysia. The resort is completed in 1992 and currently is home to an international championship golf course, the Animal World Safari, the Water World theme park as well as numerous accommodations and F&B outlets.

The first theme park, the Water World, was completed in 1996. The A’ Famosa Water World is a 20-acres theme park. Some of the rides include the high-speed water slides and water scooters, the wave pool and lazy river. The park emphasises on safety measures that meet international standards. The Water World is open 11 am to 7 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 7 pm on weeknights. It is closed every Tuesday. Tickets to the water world cost RM48 for adults and RM36 for children.

The Animal World Safari was completed in 2001. Take a walk into the land of enchanting animals all in one place. These include the ferocious tiger, tame rabbits, camels and elephants just to name a few. Some of the rides that are suitable for families include the Safari Adventure Ride as well as a river raft to Monkey Island. Other attractions include the Macaw land, elephant encounters and farm house. The Animal World Safari is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm. Tickets to the Animal World Safari cost RM 93 for adults and RM 82 for children. Lunch is included in this ticket price.
