UK Farm & Argo Resort, Kluang, Johor is Malaysia’s largest goat and sheep farm. Located at the Kluang district in Johor (Plot 8, Project Pertanian Moden Kluang, KM13 Jalan Batu Pahat, 86000 Kluang, Johor, Malaysia), It is home to more than 4000 goats and sheep over 100 acres of farmland. The entrance tickets cost RM47.70 per adult and RM37.10 per child.
A huge Etawah Goat statue greets visitors nearby the second gate. Fondly known as the “good luck goat” or the “wishing goat” the statue oversees and acts as the guardian of the farm, bringing luck and peace to farm workers and visitors alike. In the free to explore area, there is an open lavender field and a mini zoo. The mini zoo is where common domestic animals including chickens, ducks turkeys, rabbits, ducks and geese are reared. You will also be able to find peacocks, monkeys as well as hedgehogs. Kids can feed and pet the animals at the mini zoo. It is a different experience for children who grows up in the city!
If you are tired, hop onto the mini bus provided by the farm for your guided tour. The farm’s knowledgeable guide will take you to the goat pens, where you can feed baby goats. In addition, they will bring you to the feedstock processing factory and the goat milk processing centre, where you will learn how the farm process the goats and their milk as well as their farming practices and modern techniques. At scheduled timings, you can also watch sheep grazing where hundreds of sheep are let loose from their pens to the open fields and herding them back.
The Jakun Village offers a cultural aspect to the farm visit at the UK Farm & Argo Resort at Kluang, Johor. The village represents the cultural history of the indigenous people, the Orang Asli of the Jakun tribe. The exhibits and performances showcase how the Orang Asli live with nature via their houses; the “Kerkendeng” handmade from natural materials; their hunting traps the “Penyatuh Harimau and Perangkap kancil” as well as the blowpipe “Temiang” shooting skills performance.
In addition to being the largest goat farm in Malaysia, the UK Farm & Argo Resort also grows various fruits, herbs, and plants. The Organic Fruit and Vegetable Farm, the Herb Sanctuary, and Mushroom Farm are other must-visit stops at the UK Farm & Argo Resort, Kluang, Johor. No pesticides and chemicals are used to grow the fruits and plants in the Organic Fruit and Vegetable Farm. At the Herb Sanctuary, you can find more than 100 species of herbs grown. The experienced guides will share their knowledge on the uses of these herbs and how some are used to make flavourful tea and traditional medicines. Also, you can also visit the mushroom house and learn how are mushrooms cultivated.
It is always bustling with activities at the UK Farm & Argo Resort. Hands on DIY sessions can be arranged where you can learn to make your personal t-shirt, lanterns, and kites among other things. You can also learn to cook using the UK Farm & Argo Resort’s recipes for goat milk muffins and curry puffs. Other activities include the sheep challenge, horse rides, archery and BBQ among others.
